Twitter On-The-Go for New Recruits

Comments

So, you've just signed up for a shiny new Twitter account, probably more out of curiosity to find out what the hype is all about.

Perhaps you now deem Twitter "cool" to use, but realise it may be a little cumbersome to have to keep up-to-date with your followers via your computer.

Twitter is by nature a mobile service — it's designed, after all, to allow you to blog about what you're currently doing (or, as I've found with my use of it, to connect with people from around the world — especially useful if you're a blogger).

So here's a list of some great mobile applications you can use to keep up with your followers, and tweet your thoughts, whilst on-the-go!

BlackBerry Apps
Twitter apps for BlackBerry
  • Twitter for BlackBerry the official Twitter app for your 'berry — coming soon, but from what we've seen, it looks pretty cool!
iPhone Apps
  • Tweetie probably the best iPhone app for Twitter, Tweetie has won numerous design awards. I use the app for Mac, and can say that it's great! (It's not free, though. Available from App Store)
  • Twitterrific
  • Nambu
Symbian
One app that stands out for Symbian users (i.e. Nokia users) is tweets60. You can get it from the Ovi Store on your mobile.

Twitter Apps for Everyone Else
For those of us on Nokias, or phones that support Java applications, here's two applications that I've personally used, and highly recommend to you.
  • uTweetMe I've done a review of this app before (see it here). It's a great, simple app to tweet on your mobile from.
  • Twibble if you want a more stylish user interface, Twibble has it for you. However, the free version does limit you to viewing only 10 tweets at a time. But you can also upload photos to twitpic too. I'm currently using this app to tweet on the go from.
If you have your own personal favourite apps to tweet via your mobile, drop a line in the comments below!
